OUR VET NURSES
Caroline
Caroline joined our team in 2007 having already been in the industry for a decade. She is based at the Elwood Veterinary Clinic and enjoys working with a great group of people. Caroline particularly enjoys the challenge of surgical nursing.
She has a large menagerie at home with 2 Staffy's Ruby Tuesday (female) and Barney Bananas (male) and a pet budgie "Pretty Boy". Caroline's also a caring mum to her ageing Tonkinese "Lily" still enjoying life despite her renal failure.
A keen traveler, Caroline enjoyed Europe and catching up with lots of her friends that are based there. Highlights included Croatia, Slovenia and anywhere a music festival could be found!
Caroline supports the Essendon Bombers "Go the mightly ‘Dons" and loves retro tv shows, SBS documentaries and art house films. She enjoys reading about the colourful lives of rock musicians in autobiographies and her favourite book is the classic "Clockwork Orange".
Anita
Anita joined the team in November 2007 having worked in the industry for 5 years. She is based at the Albert Park Veterinary Clinic and loves being able to help animals.
She has a special interest in rabbits, with her little bunny Pixie at home with her feline friend Fred. She enjoys indoor netball with mates and has just returned home after 2 years traveling through Europe. She highly recommends anyone to visit Spain, France, Morocco and Scotland.
Her favourite film is ‘Snatch' and her favourite book is ‘Shantaram' by Gregory David Roberts.
Helen
Helen joined our team in April 2010 having come from an intensive 10 months at a 24 hour emergency centre. She is a qualified veterinary nurse from the UK now living in Melbourne.
Helen has extensive knowledge of all aspects of nursing having worked in numerous counties on her way to Australia where she is now living with her husband and dog Scoota.
Her experiences include volunteering and working for the China Bear Rescue (Animals Asia Foundation) where she helped rehabilitate bears rescued from bile farms through to dog neutering programmes in south east asia.
She enjoys the challenges of surgical and emergency nursing but also likes to find the time to get to talk to the clients and get to know their pets.
In her spare time Helen likes to walk her dog Scoota, read, play the flute and travel. And although from the UK she has been introduced to "Aussie Rules" football and is a mighty Bombers supporter through marriage!
Amber
Amber has two cats; a big fat black and white man called Taj and his sister, a tabby DSH called Sammie. They are her "angels".
Out of work, Amber likes to travel, see live music, camping and painting. As for vet nursing, Amber likes in house pathology work such as processing bloods for a sick pet, she also likes caring for our boarding kitties and has a big soft spot for all our older (geriatric) patients.
Her favourite book is The Book Thief and as for her favourite movies; she love Guy Ritchie films and pretty much anything staring Johnny Depp!!!
